Built to measure.
Born to perform.

The world's first continuous, wearable lactate monitor - built from gold-medal research at the University of Oslo.

Common questions.

What is continuous lactate monitoring?

Continuous lactate monitoring means tracking lactate trends throughout a training session instead of relying on a single blood sample. Outrun is developing a wearable patch approach so athletes and coaches can see intensity changes while training is still underway.

How is Outrun different from finger-prick lactate tests?

Finger-prick tests give a snapshot and usually require stopping to draw blood. Outrun's patch is designed for continuous, wearable measurement with real-time feedback to a phone or watch, so sessions can stay uninterrupted.

Who is Outrun for?

Outrun is built for athletes, coaches, and sports environments that need better intensity control - from elite training to ambitious recreational athletes who want clearer lactate insight.

Is Outrun a medical device?

No. Outrun is for informational and training purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Where is Outrun based?

Outrun is a product of Cyrasense AS, based at Forskningsparken (Oslo Science Park) in Oslo, Norway. The project grew out of research at the University of Oslo and iGEM.

Who founded Outrun?

Outrun was founded by a student team from Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at the University of Oslo, with backgrounds spanning software, hardware, biology, partnerships, and instrumentation.
